Alvin and The Chipmunks

Valentine’s Day, me and my boo decided not to go out to have some date or what, and be a home buddy because it seems that is a busy day, we both watch a movie entitled “Alvin and the Chipmunks”. This movie has received extremely negative reviews from movie critics but I personally accepted that I really enjoyed watching it.

It is a story of the three chipmunk brothers named Alvin (an emotional roller coaster), Simon (having an IQ just north of Einstein), and Theodore (the child of innosent). They are living their lives in the forest storing nuts away for the winter when one day their tree is cut down and carried off into the city to become a Christmas tree. They must find a new home and they end up at Dave’s house. The only thing that makes them different is that they can talk and even sing. Dave Seville (Jason Lee) is a struggling song writer who has a great idea about making the chipmunks a new show act, singing his songs. The only thing is that you must remember is that they are chipmunks and they act like chipmunks by tearing up Dave’s house and interrupting his love life. However, they also begin to bond as a family with Dave becoming like a Dad. The chipmunks become a big hit and superstars with cute voices and fancy dance moves. The record company executive Ian (David Cross) sees big money in his future and takes over the act and pushes Dave to the side. Dave must try to save his little family before they becomes a show biz disaster.

Remembering Hearts Day…

There is nothing more magical than spending Valentine’s Day with your true love. Taking them out to dinner, having a sumptuous dessert, showering them with gifts and then having some wonderful alone time where the two of you can grow closer. But there’s nothing worse than forgetting it. With life’s hectic schedule, sometimes these holidays sneak up on you. Here are a few tips on how to remind you.

Step 1:
Place a note on your computer. All of us are so “wired” these days we are always in front of our personal computer. Place a note right on the edge of your monitor telling yourself when Valentine’s Day is and what tasks you have to complete for the one you love.

Step 2:
Have your best friend call you. Tell him that you’ll buy him a drink or do a small favor if he simply reminds you when Valentine’s Day is in the days leading up to it.

Step 3:
Sign up for a web service. There are many out there (see Resources below) and many allow you to input important dates like birthdays or holidays. Then they remind you via email as they are approaching or on the day.

Step 4:
Set your PDA, cell phone or other electronic device that you strap to your hip with a schedule alarm. These are obviously specific to each piece of technology you own. But many allow you to input schedules which will alarm on the appropriate day or time.

Step 5:
Beg dear old mom. After all that’s what moms are for. They do the little intangibles that make our lives just a little bit less stressful. But since it is Valentine’s Day, send your mom some flowers while you’re at it. After all, she gave you unconditional love long before that girl in your graduate school class.
